Separation (And Revelry)

John 17
14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Romans 13
13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.

From The Statement of Faith Of The Anchor Baptist Church, Pisgah Forest, North Carolina:
Separation - We believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord; that our conduct, dress, and speech should be of the highest standards to avoid offending others around us, and, that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded of God.

Over the years, my views of this doctrine have changed. My current view is this: Separation not is something that you think about, or work at or struggle with. Separation is something that just happens to you as you walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work (Colossians). Oh yeah, over the years, revelry was the sin I struggled with most. Now, I'm too old to revel....
