Comforter

Ecclesiastes 4
1 So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter....

Ecclesiastes. This book certainly has some dreary passages. I guess I haven't come to the uplifting part yet. Thank God we Christians, have a comforter.

John 14
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

From Webster 1828 Dictionary
Comforter, n. The title of the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name--he shall teach you all things. John 14.

Task for the day: consider the doctrine of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit....
