Isaiah 24
1 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.
This passage, maybe more than any other, should be written on the hearts of men, all men. It contains a prophecy of calamities that should come upon the whole world, and the inhabitants of it, for their sins.
More From Isaiah 24
15 Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea.
But here, we see hope - for the remnant. But our prayers are made in a sea of burning destruction.
And so, we live in fear. And wonder. Will God, in the end, have mercy on our poor souls....
