Cyrus

Isaiah 48
14 All ye, assemble yourselves, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? The LORD hath loved him: he will do his pleasure on Babylon, and his arm shall be on the Chaldeans.

Here, "him" is Cyrus. God seems to have a special love for Cyrus, a type of Christ. Other Old Testament gentiles who God loves: Ruth, Melchezedek, and, maybe, Darius (from Ezra, not Daniel).

Here is an Old Testament question.  From that point when Cyrus liberates the Hebrew exiles from Babylon to resettle and rebuild Jerusalem, where did they go wrong?
