The Call 3 - God's Will And Time

Ephesians 1
11 In whom [Jesus] also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

I am interested in Baptist history. The Baptist message in earlier times is a message not necessarily appreciated in later times.

Baptist Confession Of 1689 - Effectual Calling
Paragraph 1. Those whom God hath predestinated unto life, He is pleased in His appointed, and accepted time, effectually to call, by His Word and Spirit, out of that state of sin and death in which they are by nature, to grace and salvation by Jesus Christ;

More From Ephesians 1
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

In earlier times, I think maybe Baptists viewed God as all powerful, especially in the process of their salvation, the process by which they are called and by which they accept the call.
